1/4 lb Margarine

1/2 c Sugar

1 Egg; beaten

4 oz Dates; cut up

1/2 c Flour

1/4 ts Salt

1/2 ts Vanilla

1/2 c Nuts; chopped

1 1/4 c Rice krispies

Red sugar Green icing Cook margarine, sugar, egg and dates for 5 minutes. Add flour gradually; mix well and cook for 7 minutes longer. Remove from heat and add salt, nuts, vanilla and rice krispies. Mix well; do not let mix get cold. Shape into strawberries. Place with red sugar in a brown back and shake to coat cookies. Make stem with some green decorator icing. Note: Can use strawberry jello to coat cookies instead of red sugar. -----
